The Ladder for Success is an evidence-based intervention strategy that supports positive behaviour and is linked with our Response to Intervention strategy. The Ladder for Success provide a positive prevention strategy for our Tier 1 students. It supports clear expectations in every learning group, subject area and learning environments inside and outside in the yard. It encourages positive reinforcement, provides consistency and a common language across the school.
All students commence on ‘Ready for Success’ each day. This allows students time to move up the ladder to achieve excellence and if they are below ready for success they start of the new day irrespective of where they finished. Students move up the ladder to promote and acknowledge positive behaviours and demonstrate individual expectations and goals. Students can also move down the ladder to remind them of the expected behaviours. When a student moves down the ladder, teachers use positive language to remind them they can move back to ready to learn by showing positive behaviours and expectations.
