Dear Parents/Carers
We can’t believe we are at the end of term 2 and what a fun and busy few weeks of learning it has been in Foundation! Our students have continued to amaze us with their growing confidence and enthusiasm for learning. They have been building their knowledge of letter sounds and using their letter formation skills to write words independently.
Students have loved exploring Nursery Rhymes such as Jack and Jill, The Incy Wincy Spider and many more through a range of literacy and creative activities. In Mathematics, we have been strengthening our number knowledge through counting forwards and backwards, subitising and ordinal numbers through hands-on learning experiences. We have been connecting the days of the week to events that occur in our daily lives. We have also been sharing places that are special to us in investigations. This term in wellbeing, we have been exploring kindness and how we can be kind to ourselves and the people around us.
Learning at home could look like:
- Reading together each night — an adult reading first and then encouraging your child to repeat or join in, while talking about the pictures and story.
- Counting groups of objects at home and talking about what day it is, what was yesterday & tomorrow.
- Encouraging children to talk about places that are special to them, their religion and families.
We are so proud of our students and all of their wonderful achievements this term!

Important Reminders:
- Satchels – Satchels with all books and reading logs are to be brought to school every day. Teachers will be checking home reading and any important correspondence will be sent home in satchels
- Brain Food – Please pack a healthy fruit or vegetable snack everyday. Students are provided with time at 10am to fuel their brains!
- Uniform – Please ensure your child is in the correct school uniform with the Riverwalk logo.
