The Stand Up Project

At Riverwalk Primary School, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment where every student feels valued and supported. As part of this commitment, we proudly participate in The Stand-Up Project (SUP), a whole-school, peer-led initiative that empowers students to become active upstanders and contribute to a positive school culture. SUP focuses on student voice, agency and leadership, teaching students how to recognise, prevent and respond to bullying and other harmful behaviours in safe and effective ways.

Our Year 5 SUP Leaders play a vital role in promoting positive relationships across the school. These student leaders deliver age-appropriate lessons to younger students, model respectful behaviour, support anti-bullying initiatives and help build a culture where everyone feels safe and included. They also work alongside staff to present anti-bullying workshops for parents and carers, helping to strengthen the partnership between school and home. This peer-led approach empowers students to take ownership of creating a positive school environment and encourages all members of our community to stand up against bullying.

At Riverwalk, we believe that preventing bullying is everyone’s responsibility. Through the leadership of our SUP students and the support of our wider school community, we are building a culture of respect, kindness and belonging for all.
