At Riverwalk Primary School, we believe that wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We have adopted the Visible Wellbeing framework, developed by Professor Lea Waters, to help create a school culture where students and staff can thrive both academically and personally. Visible Wellbeing is a whole-school approach that combines the science of wellbeing with the science of learning, embedding wellbeing practices into everyday school life rather than treating them as a separate program.
Visible Wellbeing is built around the SEARCH framework, which focuses on six evidence-based pathways to wellbeing:
• Strengths
• Emotional Management
• Attention and Awareness
• Relationships
• Coping
• Habits and Goals
Through explicit teaching, classroom practices and everyday interactions, students learn skills that help them understand themselves, build positive relationships, manage challenges and develop resilience. The framework also provides staff with a common language and consistent approach to supporting student wellbeing across the school.
At Riverwalk, Visible Wellbeing is integrated into our teaching and learning programs, helping students recognise their strengths, develop positive habits and build the skills they need to flourish both at school and beyond. By making wellbeing visible, we empower students to become confident, capable learners who are equipped to navigate life’s opportunities and challenges.
