Dear families,
It has been another busy and positive few weeks at Riverwalk, with students engaging in a range of learning experiences, transitions, and celebrations as we head toward the end of the school year. Our planning for 2026 is well underway, and we look forward to sharing more with our community as preparations continue.
Student Events and Engagement
Our Foundation students enjoyed their Breakfast and Teddy Bear Picnic this week—two much-loved traditions that help build confidence and connection in their first year of school.
Next week includes several important transition activities to support students as they prepare for 2026:
- Tuesday 9th December: Year 6 students attend Year 7 Transition Day. Year 1–5 students take part in Step Up Morning, meeting their 2026 teachers and classmates
- Wednesday 10th : Final Little Learners session for incoming Foundation students
- Thursday 11th : Foundation Graduation
- Friday 12 December: Curriculum Day (student-free)
As we move into the final week of term, we look forward to marking several significant milestones with our community:
• Monday 16 December – Year 6 Graduation
• Wednesday 18 December – Year 6 Adventure Park Celebration
• Thursday 19 December (final day of term 1:30pm finish) – Whole School Christmas Concert
These events are an important way to acknowledge student achievement, strengthen wellbeing, and celebrate a successful year of learning.
Subjects Night
Yesterday we hosted our Subjects Night, showcasing hands-on activities across PE, STEM, Visual Arts and Performing Arts. Thank you to all families who joined us to explore our specialist programs
2026 Class Structures
With 967 confirmed enrolments, our class structure for next year will be as follows:
• Foundation – 7 classes
• Year 1 – 7 classes
• Year 2 – 6 classes
• Year 3 – 7 classes
• Year 4 – 6 classes
• Year 5 – 4 classes
• Year 6 – 5 classes
2026 Key Dates
To support families with planning, our 2026 term dates are listed below:
• Term 1: 27 January – 2 April (students begin 28 January)
• Term 2: 20 April – 26 June
• Term 3: 13 July – 18 September
• Term 4: 5 October – 18 December
2026 Camp Dates
We are also pleased to confirm next year’s camps:
• Year 3/4 Oasis Camp, Mt Evelyn: 1 June – 19 June
• Year 5/6 Billabong Ranch Camp, Echuca: 20–22 May
More information will be provided to families early next year.
Facilities and Grounds Updates
We are excited to share that several new facilities have been added to our school grounds this term. In the junior area, our “Riverwalk Village” cubby houses are now installed and are already a favourite among our Prep and Year 1 students. Our new Gaga Pit has quickly become a popular play space for students across the school, and a large digital screen has been installed in the gym to support assemblies, performances, and events.
